Daily Track: "New Black by GoldLink"

Soulection never ceases to deliver on-point music and today I want to share with y'all my most recent favorite from GoldLinkNew Black is an uptempo, introspective track that delivers silky word-play, feel good melodies, and, most importantly, a closer look into GoldLinks debut album 'And After That We Didn't Talk' which comes out this Friday.

  1. GoldLink's word-play is silky smooth from "I got level headed when I left to beseech the sea to see" to the bippity-bippity-bop-bop. For only seriously rapping for two years GoldLink's rhymes are incredibly poetic.
  2. The message at the end is equally on-point. GoldLink is a relatively positive voice in hip-hop. You're not going to hear him rapping about all his bottles in the club or his missed calls. Hip-hop needs a voice like GoldLink to add a refreshing change of pace for the genre.
  3. The production is classical hip-hop and the sampling is tastefully done. Shoutout to Tom Misch and Jordan Rakei for making the beat boppable!
